SIOUX FALLS, SD – There is a need for workers in STEM, or science technology, engineering, and mathematics in South Dakota. That’s why Dakota science-based organizations are looking to promote education in this field.

Organizations that are looking to fill jobs in the science market aren’t just looking at the current group of eager workers, but also making a new group for the future.

Over 5,000 people piled into the Sanford Research Building for the 3rd annual It’s All About Science Festival. Everyone took something different out of the event, and while it was a fun time learning about science, the goal was much bigger.

“In the state of South Dakota the number one job need is in the area of STEM, so science technology, engineering, and mathematics,” Jill Weimer of Sanford Research said. “The reason that these industries come together is they recognized that they are going to be building the capacity for their workforce for tomorrow.”
