The Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF) is a program of Society for Science & the Public (SSP), is the world’s largest international pre-college competition. Approximately 1,700 high school students from more 75 countries, regions, and territories are awarded the opportunity to showcase their independent research and compete for approximately $4 million in prizes.
Participants from each South Dakota regional science fair will also have an opportunity to attend participate Intel ISEF. Each South Dakota regional science fair will select the most exemplary student research projects to represent South Dakota at the Intel ISEF as a finalist. Each finalist and their sponsor will receive an all-expense paid trip to attend the week long event held the second week of May each year. Currently, Intel ISEF in on a three city circuit with 2017 being held in Los Angeles, followed by Pittsburg in 2018 and Phoenix in 2019.
