SD EPSCoR Impacts for the Week of September 27, 2018:

  • The National Science Foundation (NSF) is now accepting nominations for the 2019 Alan T. Waterman Award. The annual award recognizes an outstanding young researcher in any field of science or engineering supported by NSF. Nominations may be submitted via FastLane until October 22, 2018. Scientists 40 years of age or younger, or up to 10 years post Ph.D., may be nominated. More

  • The South Dakota Board of Regents announced that Nathan Lukkes has been named general counsel for the board and the public higher education system in South Dakota. Since April 2014, Lukkes has served as the system assistant vice president for research and economic development in the regents’ central office in Pierre, where his responsibilities involved working with the public universities, state and federal agencies, and the private sector to stimulate and build research capacity and performance across South Dakota.
