South Dakota Mines hosted the iNSPiRE by Omnitech in Rapid City on Thursday, April 11 in the university’s Surbeck Center.

Omnitech’s iNSPiRE event gives 8th-12th grade girls an opportunity to engage in workshops and connect with local professionals in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields. Attendees will learn more about the variety of college and career paths available in high-tech industries, particularly engineering. The event is free of charge to all participants. Many of the volunteers and student mentors at iNSPiRE are South Dakota Mines alumnae with careers in local high-tech companies.

This year, Amber Hulse, former Miss South Dakota, will offer opening remarks and inspiration. Students will then break into smaller sessions with mentors from various fields.

The keynote speaker at iNSPiRE is Molly Christianson of Empowered Coaching. Christianson will empower attendees and discuss what it takes to be an effective leader, focusing on finding your voice and going after the most important things to attendees. Through Christianson’s words of inspiration, attendees will be guided to figure out who they want to be as leaders, the strengths they’ll lean into, and the values they want to honor as they make a difference in their world every day.

Members of the press are welcome to attend the event to interview organizers and participants.

About Omnitech

Omnitech provides custom software solutions to businesses in South Dakota and surrounding states. Omnitech started in Sioux Falls, South Dakota in 1998 with a mission to provide a local option for software engineering solutions. Since then, we have expanded our reach nationally while still maintaining our relationships centered on honesty, integrity, and quality. Over the last 26 years, we have evolved to best serve our clients’ needs based on technology trends and enhanced our engineering capabilities to include data, DevOps, business analytics, and SharePoint.

Opening a Rapid City, South Dakota office in 2018 has allowed Omnitech to provide full coverage across the state and increase interaction with students from the South Dakota Mines. This close relationship with Mines and other state universities has helped us fine-tune our multi-year internship program and foster strong engineering talent in the state.
