SD EPSCoR Impacts

SD EPSCoR Impacts for the Week of August 30, 2018:

  • This year’s Career & Technical Education Program RFP has been released. Applications may be submitted by school districts and educational service providers in South Dakota. Up to $170,000 will be awarded to schools this October (awards cap at $30,000). Proposals for SD EPSCoR funds through the Department of Education aim to increase the number of STEM graduates skilled in informatics and biosciences at all levels by partnering industry with K16 education and research activities to meet the growing workforce needs in South Dakota. Proposals are due September 27th.
  • Make plans to attend the fifth annual USD Biomaterials Day on September 21st in Sioux Falls at University Center. Speakers include Dr. David Mooney of Harvard University, Dr. Paul Campagnola of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Dr. Sanku Mallik of North Dakota State University, and Dr. Steven Powell from Sanford Health. The event also includes a poster session and evening reception featuring a presentation from the Biden Cancer Initiative.
