LISA FUCCELLO

Lisa Fuccello | SD EPSCoR STEM Teacher Leaders

Hello! My name is Lisa Fuccello and I have been teaching science for 11 years at Brandon Valley High School.  I teach mostly seniors in an Anatomy & Physiology course of advanced students who hope to someday enter the medical world. I also get to teach freshman and sophomores in a Biology 1 course. I have also previously taught a Foundations of Biology course and a Biology 2 course.

In addition to teaching, I advise a HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) student group, which occupies a lot of my time. I am also the coordinator for several blood drives that we host at our high school each year. In the past, I was a coach for several Science Quiz Bowl teams, a Science Olympiad team, and was an advisor for the National Honor Society. I currently serve as the treasurer for a local alumni group and for about 7 years, served on a house corporation board and as a scholarship advisor for the Chi Omega sorority on the campus of SDSU.

I attended South Dakota State University (Go Jacks!) and graduated from there with a degree in Biology.  I am married to a wonderful man named Jason and we have two little boys, Jackson and Luca. In my limited free time, I love reading, taking photos, and spending time with my family.
