RAPID CITY, SD (April 25, 2024) — Officials at Southeast Technical College (STC) and South Dakota Mines (SDM) solidified a new articulation agreement with a signing ceremony on Friday, April 12, 2024, at the STC campus in Sioux Falls.
The agreement allows graduates of STC’s civil engineering technology program to transfer 40 credits and continue their education to earn a bachelor’s degree from Mines.
“This agreement provides additional opportunities and pathways for STC, increasing the value of their technical education,” said Dr. Benjamin Valdez, vice president of academic affairs at STC. “It is also beneficial to the Sioux Falls region and the state of South Dakota as we work to fulfill our workforce-centered mission.”
The new agreement is the first between Mines and a technical college in South Dakota.
“We look forward to helping students build on what they achieved at Southeast Tech,” said Dr. Lance Roberts, provost and vice president of academic affairs at Mines. “This partnership will help students earn a world-class STEM education on their path to a successful career.”
