NSF Game Maker Awards: K-12
The U.S. National Science Foundation has a unique new opportunity with you and your community. In commemoration of the U.S. National Science Foundation’s upcoming 75th anniversary, the agency has launched the NSF Game Maker Awards. This competition invites K-12 students to design video games that imagine life in the year 2100 and the role science and technology will play in shaping the future. Students and their mentors have the chance to compete for prizes, including being invited to a special in-person winners’ event next spring where they will have the chance to showcase their games. NSF has teamed up with strong collaborators in the gaming field that bring invaluable expertise and established networks to help share the challenge, engage students, and provide them with the tools and inspiration needed to excel.
This competition merges creative thinking with technical skills, encouraging teamwork and inclusivity. By engaging students in STEM through this exciting challenge, NSF aims to keep the U.S. at the forefront of scientific and technological innovation and strive to make STEM education engaging and accessible to all while fostering the next generation of thinkers and creators.
