NASA Visit with Bill Paloski

Dr. Bill Paloski directs NASA’s Human Research Program (www.nasa.gov/hrp), a biomedical research and technology development program aimed at mitigating the highest risks to human health and performance expected during exploration spaceflight missions beyond low Earth orbit. His program currently funds more than 220 investigator teams from 21 states to work on problems associated with radiation exposure, reduced gravity, isolation and confinement, and autonomous medical care. This presentation will review our current understanding of the key risks, our evolving approaches to mitigate them, and opportunities for researchers from South Dakota to get involved​​​​​​.
