High Plains Regional Science and Engineering Fair

The 68th Annual High Plains Regional Science and Engineering Fair (HPRSEF) will be held from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21, in the King Center on the South Dakota Mines campus.

The fair includes 6-12th grade students from schools across the region. This year, there are 359 total projects: 331 in the junior division and 28 in the senior division. A total of 433 students will be in attendance with 400 in the junior division and 33 in the senior division. Ten schools will be in attendance.

Black Hills Raptor Center will be presenting in the Goodell Gymnasium in the King Center from 8:45 a.m.-9:45 a.m. Science fair projects are open to the public from 1:30-2:30 p.m., and the awards ceremony begins at 3 p.m. The media are welcome to attend anytime.

The high school division winner goes on to compete in the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair with an all-expense paid trip to Dallas for the student and chaperone.
