KidWind Educator Workshop

This is a FREE workshop on November 18, 2023 in Mission, SD. In this workshop you will review energy and electricity basics, design and test blades, explore related energy education resources, and preview ready-to-use renewable energy curriculum: https://www.kidwind.org/activities.

What to Expect:

Who will benefit from this workshop? Grades 5-12 educators who teach alternative energies, environmental education, and STEM.

  • Lunch, beverages, and snacks will be provided.
  • Attendees will be provided with wind turbine kits to take home (a $130 value!)

Participants also learn about a potential South Dakota KidWind Challenge that may take place this spring and gain tips for coaching student teams through the process of designing and constructing small-scale turbines. Educators will leave with the resources and confidence to use renewable energy as a lens into hands-on science, technology, and engineering exploration in the classroom!
