SD EPSCoR announces new science fair STEM research award

SD EPSCoR is pleased a new school-based, science fair team challenge competition to take place at the South Dakota regional science fairs beginning this year.

This challenge will award three cash prizes in each region to schools whose top three scoring student research projects have the highest average score.

The cash prizes are:

• 1st Place – $1,000
• 2nd Place – $750
• 3rd Place – $500

The funds may be used by the school for any investment in STEM equipment, supplies or related investments that will increase student participation in the state’s science fairs and allow them to undertake more in-depth research projects.
