On the cover, Priya Saxena, is a Graduate Research Associate studying biofilms in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at South Dakota Mines. Biofilms refer to microbial mats that develop on surfaces and possess the ability to induce corrosion due to their beneficial metabolic properties.
This team and their work contribute to the NSF EPSCoR RII Track-1 award.🧬Fun fact: the current NSF EPSCoR RII Track-1 award has supported a total of 111 postdoctoral and graduate students with their research!
