SD EPSCoR Impacts for the Week of August 2, 2018:

  • The NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) recognizes and supports outstanding graduate students in NSF-supported science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines who are pursuing research-based master’s and doctoral degrees at accredited United States institutions. Fellows benefit from a three-year annual stipend of $34,000 along with a $12,000 cost of education allowance for tuition and fees (paid to the institution), opportunities for international research and professional development, and the freedom to conduct their own research at any accredited U.S. institution of graduate education they choose. The 2019 GRFP competition application is now open. More
  • Thank you to everyone who helped make the 5th Annual Summer Undergraduate Research Symposium a success last week in Pierre. Over 150 posters were presented by students from across South Dakota. These experiences provide students with the opportunity to gain real-life independent research experience, strengthen their presentation skills, network with other student and faculty researchers and learn about future opportunities in the state.
